Open Question: Why are outsiders often so interested in meddling in the affairs of a sovereign entity?

For Example: Liberals from Massachusetts and California want to tell Texas and Utah and Wyoming and others to allow abortion, gay marriage, and disallow Capitol punishment. Conservatives from Oklahoma, Mississippi, South Carolina want other states like New York, Oregon, Minnesota to have prayer in school and display the 10 Commandments. But the one that gets me the most: European countries trying to interfere with US administrating its laws like death penalty, and firearms freedoms. Where do they get off telling us what to do and belittling? Brown!!! don't get me wrong, I think we should butt out too! I'm protectioninst! Defenseive strength, not Globalist-Corporate driven foriegn policy!
